Raleigh – North Carolina Democratic Party Chairman Wayne Goodwin released the following statement after the State Board of Elections ruled that Democratic challenger Jen Mangrum can run to challenge Senate Leader Phil Berger in Senate District 30:

“Senate Leader Phil Berger tried every dirty trick in the book to knock Jen Mangrum off the ballot because he knows she’s a real threat. Under Phil Berger’s watch, rural hospitals in his backyard have gone bankrupt and our public schools lag the national average while corporate profits soar. Jen is running to bring real representation to the people of Senate District 30, not corporate, Raleigh interests. Phil Berger is right to be worried.”
