f you haven't already renewed your 2019 membership to the Democratic Women of Buncombe County, you can do so at the February meeting. Dues are $25 per year. In addition to supporting Democratic candidates, you receive a reduced dinner price at monthly meetings.

Leila Barazandeh lives in West Asheville and is currently the President of the Buncombe County Young Democrats Chapter. She cares deeply about immigrant rights, workers rights, healthcare for ALL, and reproductive justice. She was the Outreach Director for Catori Swann's County Commissioner- District 3 campaign this past 2018 primary. In the 2018 general she was the Field Director for the Quentin Miller for Sheriff campaign.
Colton Browder, Co-Founder and President of the Buncombe County Teen Dems, got his start in politics in 2016 when he started volunteering for Brian Turner and Hillary Clinton. He then became a field coordinator for Cecil Bothwell's City Council campaign in 2017. In December of 2017, he served as a page for Governor Roy Cooper in Raleigh. He then became the Head of Data and Field Operations for Norm Bossert's 2018 State Senate campaign, and served on the communications committee for the Progressive Democrats of Buncombe County. Furthermore, he serves on the Young Democrats of America Finance Committee.
Audrey Meigs is currently a student at A.C. Reynolds high school where she founded Girl Up- an affiliate program of the United Nations Foundation. Girl Up helps girls and women in developing countries receive life changing education. Girl Up Reynolds also sponsors an annual drive for Helpmate. Audrey also leads the WNC Girl Up Coalition and was the coordinator for the 2018 March for Our Lives in Asheville, presenting an original slam poem. In addition to her work with Girl Up, Audrey serves as the Vice President of Membership for the Buncombe County Teen Dems.
